ABOUT RAYMOND JONES

I’m Raymond Jones, although most people call me Ray.

Photography has been part of my life for more than 40 years. It started with a Polaroid Instamatic and developed into a fascination with light, people and the way a photograph can completely change how something is seen.

Today, I specialise in business portraits and food photography, working with businesses across North Wales, Chester, Cheshire and throughout the UK.

PEOPLE

I know that being photographed doesn’t come naturally to everyone.

That’s why a big part of my job happens before I press the shutter. I help people relax, guide them without over-posing them and create portraits in which they still recognise themselves.

Whether I’m photographing one person or more than 100 members of a team, my aim is the same: confident, natural portraits that look like you on a very good day.

FOOD

My approach to food is influenced by my love of fine art, particularly the use of light in Renaissance painting.

I work with chefs, restaurants and hotels to create rich, carefully lit photographs that make people want to experience the food for themselves.

My food photography has been recognised in the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year, where my work has been selected as a finalist.

HOW I WORK

I don’t believe in changing people beyond recognition or making businesses look like something they’re not.

Good photography should feel authentic while showing you at your best.

That’s what I aim to create every time I pick up the camera.
