AI is creeping slowly into my business…

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been making its way into many industries, and photography is no exception. As a photographer, I am no stranger to the importance of having access to the right tools and technologies to produce the best results. And in recent years, AI has proven to be a game-changer in the world of photography, allowing me to streamline my workflows and create stunning visual content with more ease and efficiency than ever before.

One of the areas where AI is making a significant impact is in photo editing software like Lightroom and Photoshop which I use frequently. However, with the addition of AI-powered features, these software programs have become even more powerful, allowing me to make quick and accurate adjustments to my images.

For example, Lightroom now uses AI to help with facial recognition, making it easier to find and group photos of specific people. It also has an AI-powered feature that can suggest edits based on the content of the image. Similarly, Photoshop's AI features include things like subject selection, automated masking, and even facial expression manipulation.

But AI isn't just limited to post-processing software. Many cameras now come equipped with AI features that can help photographers capture the best shots possible. For example, my R5’s and R6’s use AI to track moving subjects, ensuring that they stay in focus. Others use AI to automatically adjust settings based on the lighting conditions, allowing photographers to capture the perfect shot without having to spend time adjusting their camera settings manually.

In addition to editing software and cameras, AI is also being used to generate ideas and inspiration. For example, AI-powered software can analyze existing images and suggest new compositions or lighting techniques to try out. This is particularly useful for photographers who are looking to expand their skills and try new things.

As a photographer, embracing AI can offer many benefits. It helps me work more efficiently, allowing me to spend less time on tedious tasks like editing and more time creating beautiful images. It can also help stay competitive in an increasingly crowded industry, allowing me to offer clients a wider range of services and deliver high-quality results faster.

Of course, it's important to note that AI is not a replacement for human creativity and skill. While it can certainly help with things like editing and generating ideas, it's ultimately up to the photographer to use their own expertise and creativity to produce stunning visual content. But by embracing AI and incorporating it into my workflow, I can take photography to new heights and stay ahead of the curve in this exciting and ever-evolving industry.
